in the field of "Higher Edu­ca­tion in the Con­text of Digital Change and Diversity".

Work­ing field:

Research on higher edu­ca­tion and diversity in the con­text of digital change with a spe­cific focus on the fol­low­ing top­ics from an empir­ical and the­or­et­ical per­spect­ive of Bildung:
  • Tasks, aims, struc­tures, formats, instru­ments and pro­cesses of learn­ing and teach­ing in higher edu­ca­tion
  • Het­ero­gen­eity and diversity as a con­text and chal­lenge for higher edu­ca­tion
  • Digital change as a con­text and chal­lenge for higher edu­ca­tion
The suc­cess­ful can­did­ate will also be required to teach on the MINT­grün ori­ent­a­tion pro­gram, the Gender pro MINT pro­gram as well as on the bach­elor’s and mas­ter’s pro­grams in teacher edu­ca­tion, the bach­elor’s pro­gram in cul­ture and tech­no­logy with the core sub­ject edu­ca­tional sci­ences and the mas­ter’s pro­gram in edu­ca­tional sci­ences. Teach­ing has to be pos­sible in Ger­man and Eng­lish with a teach­ing load of 9 semester peri­ods per week (LVS).

Require­ments:

Ful­fill­ment of the appoint­ment require­ments pur­su­ant to Sec­tion 100 ff. of the Ber­lin Higher Edu­ca­tion Act. Of par­tic­u­lar import­ance are a com­pleted, per­tin­ent uni­versity degree, a strong aptitude for research demon­strated, as a rule, by an out­stand­ing doc­toral thesis in edu­ca­tional sci­ences or a related sub­ject, addi­tional sci­entific achieve­ments as well as teach­ing skills demon­strated by a teach­ing port­fo­lio (for fur­ther inform­a­tion, see TU Ber­lin web­site quick access 144242). Fur­ther require­ments are research activ­it­ies on edu­ca­tion and diversity in the con­text of socio-tech­no­lo­gical change. An empir­ical and the­or­et­ical per­spect­ive of Bildung is desir­able, as is research on higher edu­ca­tion, digit­al­iz­a­tion and/or STEM, as well as innov­at­ive ideas for shap­ing this new chair at TU Ber­lin. Exper­i­ence in lead­ing research groups as well as in the acquis­i­tion of third-party fund­ing, par­tic­u­larly from the DFG, are sim­il­arly desir­able. The suc­cess­ful can­did­ate will also be expec­ted to be act­ive in aca­demic self-admin­is­tra­tion and use the oppor­tun­it­ies for cooper­a­tion with insti­tu­tions of higher edu­ca­tion at TUB. Can­did­ates who are not yet able to speak Ger­man, should be will­ing to improve their Ger­man lan­guage skills in an appro­pri­ate time period if appoin­ted to the pos­i­tion.
