Technische Universität Berlin - Faculty I Humanities – Institute for Education invites applications for a position of a
Working field:
Research on higher education and diversity in the context of digital change with a specific focus on the following topics from an empirical and theoretical perspective of Bildung:
- Tasks, aims, structures, formats, instruments and processes of learning and teaching in higher education
- Heterogeneity and diversity as a context and challenge for higher education
- Digital change as a context and challenge for higher education
The successful candidate will also be required to teach on the MINTgrün orientation program, the Gender pro MINT program as well as on the bachelor’s and master’s programs in teacher education, the bachelor’s program in culture and technology with the core subject educational sciences and the master’s program in educational sciences. Teaching has to be possible in German and English with a teaching load of 9 semester periods per week (LVS).
Requirements:
Fulfillment of the appointment requirements pursuant to Section 100 ff. of the Berlin Higher Education Act. Of particular importance are a completed, pertinent university degree, a strong aptitude for research demonstrated, as a rule, by an outstanding doctoral thesis in educational sciences or a related subject, additional scientific achievements as well as teaching skills demonstrated by a teaching portfolio (for further information, see TU Berlin website quick access 144242). Further requirements are research activities on education and diversity in the context of socio-technological change. An empirical and theoretical perspective of Bildung is desirable, as is research on higher education, digitalization and/or STEM, as well as innovative ideas for shaping this new chair at TU Berlin. Experience in leading research groups as well as in the acquisition of third-party funding, particularly from the DFG, are similarly desirable. The successful candidate will also be expected to be active in academic self-administration and use the opportunities for cooperation with institutions of higher education at TUB. Candidates who are not yet able to speak German, should be willing to improve their German language skills in an appropriate time period if appointed to the position.
